Morocco, November 2023

The call to prayer reverberates through the city as we sit on the terrace of our Riad (traditional Moroccan guest house) in the Medina of the city.  It is dinner time and we have enjoyed the delicious meals and ambiance of our Riad every night since arriving.  It is a welcome reprieve from the long days of looking at Berber Carpets and a time for us to reflect on the treasures we've seen and the cultural intrigues of this magical land.  The booming call to prayer comes at us from every direction tonight and is both enchanting and otherworldly to our senses as we nibble on delicious Moroccan salads and lamb tagine. The medina is surrounded by an ancient wall and once you enter the gates you are transported to another time while dodging the chaotic modern world of motorcycles and cars. Carts pulled by donkey, men and women in traditional Muslim attire roam the hectic streets with tourists from around the world. Tomorrow promises more adventure...
